Joseph E Sieja

Joseph E. Sieja, 82, formerly of Tarentum, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at Harmar Village Care Center, Harmarville. He was born December 9, 1934 in Tarentum, son of the late Stanley J. and Sophia C. (Vasicek) Sieja. Joseph lived his entire life in the area. He was a Toll Collector for the PA turnpike for 23 years, retiring in 1979. Joseph was a member of Holy Martyr Church, Tarentum and former St. Clement Church; and the Slovak Protection Society, Creighton. He graduated in 1952 from Tarentum High School and was a 10 letterman in football, basketball and baseball. He enjoyed horse racing and especially enjoyed his great great nephew Ian. Survivors include his sister Carol (Matthew) Maskas, Lower Burrell and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Sylvia "Sis" Prazenica and brother Jon S. Sieja. Visitation Monday 11AM in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 until the time of Christian Funeral Mass at 1PM in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum with Rev. Thomas L.
