Michael C."Mikey" Zier, II, 17, of Tarentum passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was born March 1, 2000 in Pittsburgh, son of Michael C. Zier and Linda S. (Stopchuck) Garritano, both of Tarentum. Mikey has lived the past 10 years in Tarentum and prior Harmarville. Mikey was a student at Highlands High School and Forbes Road Career and Technical Center studying to be a diesel mechanic. He was a member of Allegheny Valley Young Life and Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge. Mikey was a Jr. Firefighter for Summit Hose #3 in Tarentum and also a Jr. Captain for Summit Hose. He enjoyed working on vehicles, dirt bike riding and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his parents he is survived by his sisters, Natalie Garritano, Brackenridge, Courtney Garritano, Tarentum, Ashley (Zier) Sipes, Apollo and Catherine Zier, West View. Also surviving are maternal grandparents Paul and Dorothy (O''Connell) Stopchuck, Pittsburgh and paternal grandfather Clarence Zier, Zephyr Hills, FL; and 2 nephews Donovan DeSabetino and Anthony Yaconis. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Margaret Zier. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday and Saturday from 2-4:30 PM in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Services will be held Saturday at 5PM in Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge with Rev. Gregory L. Spencer, officiating. Burial will be Private.
