James Ralph Gould, 91, formerly of Tarentum, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at VA Hospice, Aspinwall. He was born December 16, 1925 in Harrison Township, son of the late William and Anna (Patrick) Gould. James lived the past 5 years in Sigal and prior to that Tarentum. James worked for 47 years at PPG Industries in Creighton and the last 5 years as fire chief. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army during the Pacific Theater.James was of the Presbyterian Faith. He was a member of the Tarentum Jednota, life member Valley Euchre League, Tarentum VFW, Brackenridge American Legion and former 3rd Ward Tarentum Councilman. James graduated in 1943 from Tarentum High School and enjoyed hunting, fishing, Pittsburgh Steelers and playing euchre. Survivors include his sons, James J. (Sunny) Gould, Sigal, PA, Dennis (Cheryl) Gould, Troy, PA and Timothy (Cynthia) Gould, Tarentum; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, David (Peggy) Gould, Tarentum. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen G. (Long) Gould, son James P. Gould, sister Ruth Hazlett and brothers Robert and Preston Gould.
