George R. Hussar, Sr., 89, of South Buffalo Township, crossed the finish line, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 into the embrace of his dear parents Joseph W. and Anna (Sistek) Hussar, his brothers John and Bill Hussar, Sister Marie Onofer and his first wife Patricia L. Richardson. He was born April 3, 1928 in Springdale, where he was a mail carrier for 42 years, retiring in 1983. George was of the Catholic faith and a 1946 graduate of Springdale High School. He loved sports, especially football and played semi pro football. George enjoyed all sports and attended the Indy 500 for many years. He left behind his worn-out mail bag, his forty-two Indy 500 ticket stubs along with his loved ones. Wife of 48 years, Patricia A. (Bayer) Hussar; son George R. (Linda) Hussar, Jr., Allison Park and daughter Judy Klemens; Grandchildren, Lindsay Cooper, Carolyn Will and Matthew and Daniel Carney; five lovely great grandchildren, Jenna and Charlie Grace Cooper, Malachi, Micha and Logan Carney. Also surviving is a brother Joseph (Anne) Hussar, Springdale. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Fair Winds Manor and to Dr. Connie Anderson for her care to all of us. Relatives were received Saturday, from 12 noon until the time of service at 2PM in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 with his nephew Gary Hussar, officiating.
