Richard "Dick" Magnetta, formerly of Tarentum, passed away June 28, 2017 in Port Charlotte, FL at the age of 73. Born July 27, 1943, and raised in Tarentum, Rich made many lifelong friends; he never knew a stranger. He is remembered as a guy with a smile on his face and quick with a joke. Mostly, Rich epitomized a loving family man. Over the course of his life, he was a volunteer fireman,CYA (Catholic Youth Association) coach, active church member, and avid golfer. He took up painting late in life and enjoyed traveling. Rich worked most of his life in the printing industry. Rich is lovingly remembered by his wife, Morena (Siewart) Magnetta; his daughters, Mary (Bob) Corton, Kristine (Scott) Gutherie, both of Maryland, Laura (Carmine) Magnetta and Rebecca (Lance) Miller, both of Florida; grandchildren, Bobby, Ben, Hannah, Hillary, Scotty, Cullan, Olivia and Mason. Also surviving is a brother Carl (Barb) Magnetta, Tarentum and sister Jane (John) McClelland, Natrona Heights. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Marcia (Brant) Magnetta and his parents Carl and Mildred (Thimons) Magnetta. A memorial mass is scheduled for Saturday, July 22 at 10 AM at Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum, followed by a reception in the church hall.
