Gertrude E. (Geiser) Trofka, 97, of Fawn Township, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries where she had been a resident for 17 years. She was born February 19, 1920 in Tarentum, daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude (Christy) Geiser. Gertrude lived most of her life in Fawn Township. She was an office worker for ALCOA in New Kensington and a Bus driver for Roenigk. Gertrude was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Tarentum and a former member of Eastern Star. She graduated in 1938 from Tarentum High School and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and golf when she was younger. Survivors include her daughter Judy (Charles) Wisner, Fawn Twp.; grandchildren Wendy L. (Shawn) Peace, TN, Carey B. (Christopher) Shires, Huntingdon, Dara (Dino) Valdez, Heston, KS and Carla (Jeff) Nowak, Perrysburg, OH and 5 great grandchildren Ethan Tyler Peyton, Taylor and Mikayla Valdez and Reed and Julia Nowak. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband John Day; second husband Edward J. Trofka, daughter Janet Firestone and 2 brothers James and Dale Geiser.
