Mardell E. (Scholl) Walter, 97, of Tarentum, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Platinum Ridge Nursing Home, Brackenridge with her loved ones by her side. She was born March 21, 1920 in Brackenridge, daughter of the late Daniel E. "Ted" and Edna Mardell (McMaster) Scholl. Mardell lived her entire life in the Brackenridge and Tarentum area. Mardell was of the Methodist faith and a 1939 graduate of Har Brack High School. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. Mardell took over Mrs. Camps sewing business in 1943 and made slip covers for Schwarts Brothers and Schroth Dry Good stores. Survivors include her son George Edward "Ted" (Rosemary) Scholl, Sr., Horsham, PA; grandchildren Tina Marie (Walter) Beniquez, Ambler, PA and George E. "Ted" (Melinda) Scholl, Jr., Lansdale, PA and great grandchildren Kelsey (Neal) Alford, Janson Scholl, Sabrina Beniquez, Bree Scholl and Mariela Beniquez. Also surviving are a nephew Jeffrey (Roberta) Freude, Freeport, niece Jodi (James) Hays, Natrona Heights, numerous nieces and nephews and two great nieces Erin Freude and Morgan (Landen) Freude-Tucker. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl L. Walter; brothers John Edward and Lester Eugene Scholl and sister Dorothy May Freude. All services for Mardell were private.
