Elsie Mae (Bollinger) Jones

Elsie Mae (Bollinger) Jones, 98, formerly of Fawn Twp., passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. She was born September 13, 1917 in New Kensington, daughter of the late Nicholas and Nellie (Hafner) Bollinger. Elsie lived most of her life in Fawn Twp. and Winfield Twp.; she has spent the past year in FL and many years in Freeport. She was a homemaker and attended Center United Methodist Church, Fawn Twp. where she was very active. Elsie was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts, puzzle building, and bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with her best friend Barbara Bryan of Freeport. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and fishing in her younger days and was a wonderful singer. She never forgot her family and friends with cards for birthdays and all special events in their lives. Elsie was also a former member of Sarver Vets Auxiliary and Freeport VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Beverly A. Snow and Byrd A. Bowser of Lakeland, FL with whom she made her home, Elsie L.(James) Martz, Fawn Twp., Louis F. (Luella) Jones,Buffalo Twp., Virginia M. (John) Karadeema, Buffalo Twp., and Charles A. (Beverly) Jones, Chicora; 20 grandchildren, 50 + great grandchildren and 34+ great great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews as well as numerous adopted by the heart families. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William P. Jones, Sr. in 1981; her 3 sons William P. Jones, Jr., George E. and Robert L. Jones; grandson, Gregory S. Jones; and her siblings, James E. and Louis N. Bollinger and Sister Margaret H. Bollinger. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8PM Monday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Service will be conducted Tuesday in Center United Methodist Church, Fawn Twp. at 11AM with Rev. Dr. James Ritchie, officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
