Ethel Petach

September 5, 1931 — July 14, 2016

Ethel Petach, formerly of Tarentum, entered into God World September 5, 1931 and walked with him home on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Passing into life eternal at the home of Allyson Shippee Whitmer and David C. Whitmer in Cheswick. Ethel lived most of her life in Tarentum where she worked in Retail Sales for 40 years in the GC Murphy, Tarentum. A lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Pail Byzantine Catholic Church Tarentum and 1951 graduate of Tarentum High School. Ethel enjoyed knitting, was very active in her church and helped to raise her nieces and nephews. Survivors include her sisters, Mary Ann Gigliotti, Irwin and Charlotte (William) Shippee, Cheswick; nieces and nephews, Stacy (Robert) Stanton, O''Hara Twp., Charles P. Shippee, Palm Beach, FL, Allyson (David) Whitmer, Cheswick and Christa Gigliotti, Greensburg. Besides her parents, Charles and Mary (Malet) Petach she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael. Visitation 2-4PM Sunday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a Panachida will be conducted on Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum with her pastor, Rev. Wesley M. Mash, officiating. Parastas will be conducted Sunday at 3PM in the Funeral home Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Family suggests contributions to Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
