Robert M. Wells, 89, of Fawn Township, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot. He was born January 31, 1927 in Tarentum, son of the late William and Elizabeth (Schmerheim) Wells. Robert has lived in Fawn Township since 1956 and prior to that Tarentum. He was employed as a Boiler maker at PPG Industries in Creighton for 45 years before retiring in 1989. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the US Macon from 1945-47. A member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum and former member of Mayfield Golf Club and River Forest Country Club, Allegheny Township. Robert was a 1946 graduate from Tarentum High School, was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading. As a humble person, Bob wishes to thank all who made this last ordeal of his life easier. Survivors include his wife of 66 ½ years, Joan M. (Haugh) Wells; his siblings Betty Wells and Joel "Skip" Wells, both of Natrona Heights and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, William, Raymond, Dale and James Wells.
