Robert H. "Harv" Grove, 85, of Buffalo Township, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at Concordia Hospice with his family by his side. Bob was born March 10, 1931in Canton, OH, the son of the late Harvey and Lucille (Frane) Grove. The family moved to Harrison Twp. where Bob graduated in 1950 from Har-Brack Union High School. He was a Korean Veteran serving in the Army from 1952-54. He received the Korean Services medal and a Bronze Star. Upon his return from the service, he was briefly employed in the Chem Lab at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. but later was employed by PPG Industries at the Research Lab for 35 years where he helped develop two patents for cutting glass. Bob was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum, VFW Post 894 of Natrona Heights, Brackenridge Legion and the LIARS Golf Group for many years. He also was a Freeport Area Little League coach for 7 years. Bob enjoyed watching his two sons participate in sports activities at the Freeport School District, in later years his grandchildren Abley and Nate at the same school district. He was an avid golfer, reader and enjoyed watching all sports on TV. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, June (Walters) Grove, sons Robert (Doreen) Grove, Canonsburg, Ronald (Pauline) Grove, Buffalo twp., four grandchildren. A sister, Mary Lou Schott, Natrona Heights, brother Richard (Joye) Grove, Simi Valley, CA and seven nieces and nephews. Bob will be missed by all. Friends and relatives will be received 2-4 and 6-8PM on Wednesday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be held on Thursday at 1PM with Rev. Philip Beck, officiating. Burial in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum in memory of Bob.
