Daniel G Savka

Daniel G. Savka, 55, of Creighton, passed away Thursday, May 05, 2016 at Fair Winds Manor, Winfield Township. He was born June 4, 1960 in New Kensington, son of the late Edward J. and Barbara (Tkach) Savka and step son of Dorothy (Moretti) Savka. Daniel has lived his entire life in the area and was a Telecommunications Specialist for Ronco Communications, Pittsburgh. Dan was a very active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and Rosary Society, Tarentum. Member of Slovak Club, Creighton and a life member of East Deer Volunteer Fire Department. Dan graduated in 1978 from Deer Lakes High School. He loved fishing; hunting and hanging out with his dog Rosie. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Dona M. (Adams) Savka; his children, Danielle M. Savka, Los Angeles, CA and Brandon D. Savka, Pittsburgh. His brothers, Edward J. (Reine) Savka, East Deer, Shawn E. (Amber) Savka, Penn Hills and Chad A. (Rachel) Savka, East Deer. He is also survived by 3 nieces and 3 nephews. Besides his parents and step mother he was preceded in death by a brother Timothy at birth. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, where a Panachida will be conducted Monday at 9:30 am followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum with Rev. Wesley M. Mash, officiating. Burial in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp. Parastas will be celebrated Sun at 7PM in the funeral home.
