George M Samaj

George M. Samaj, 88, formerly of Tarentum, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Southwest Veterans Center, Pittsburgh where he was a resident the past 6 years. He was born July 22, 1927 in Tarentum, son of the late Martin and Agnes (Hrebicek) Samaj. George lived his entire life in Tarentum and was employed as an Offset Pressman at General Press Corp. in Natrona Heights for 46 years before retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII and a life member of Tarentum VFW and Brackenridge American Legion. George graduated from Tarentum High School and enjoyed gardening, fishing and was a former gymnast. Survivors include his children, Linda Arbolino, Plano, TX and Roberta (Robert) Erickson, Oakmont and a grandson Nicholas Arbolino, Sarasota, FL. Also surviving are his siblings. James Samaj, Coraopolis and Millie "Babe" Artman, Meadville. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife Shirley (Stitt) Samaj, and a brother Andrew Samaj.
