Frances B Smith

Frances B. (Mele) Smith, 95, formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot. She was born February 9, 1921 in Arnold, daughter of the late Giovanni and Luigia (Lecce) Mele. Frances has lived the past 16 years at Concordia and prior to that Natrona Heights. She was a homemaker and also a Sales Clerk at the former Berkey''s, Louise''s Dress and Michaels Children''s store, all in Tarentum. Frances was of the Catholic faith and member of Highland Hose Firehall Auxiliary and Tally-Ho card club for 60 years. She graduated from Arnold High School in 1939 and was an avid card player and also a Red Coat Volunteer at Allegheny Valley Hospital. Survivors include her children, James F. (Sue) Smith. Clinton, TN and Linda L. (Gordon) Hahn, Valencia; 3 grandchildren Ginger (Paul) Smith, Knoxville, TN, Eric Smith, Knoxville, TN and Erica (Brian) Bishop, Sunnyvale, CA. and a great granddaughter Chrissy Thomas, Knoxville, TN, Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. "Pinky" Smith in 1996; brothers Peter, Anthony and Isadore Mele and sisters Josephine Martorelli and Victoria Drew.
