George Collier, 85, of Pittsburgh, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born August 15, 1930 in Brackenridge, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Mackey) Collier. George lived his entire life in the Pittsburgh area where he was a Clerk for the US Postal Service for 39 years, retiring in 1990. George was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Brackenridge and a 1948 graduate of Har Brack High School. George was a great story teller, avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and travelling. Survivors include his son, Kevin S. Collier, Ft. Lauderdale; Sister Charlotte (Rev. Edward) Carter, Jr., Brackenridge and friend Betty Trice. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula (Adams) Collier; 3 brothers, Thomas, Mitchell and Joseph Collier and 5 sisters Annie Foster, Minnie Moore, Carrie May Collier, Juanita Collier and an infant sister.
