Walter W "Buzz" Horne Jr

Walter W. "Buzz" Horne, Jr., 87, of Brackenridge, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born May 26, 1928 in Creighton, PA, son of the late Walter W. and Bertha (Fish) Horne, Sr. Walter lived most of his life in Brackenridge and Natrona. He was a Glass worker retired from PPG Industries in Creighton and a Korean War veteran serving in the US Army. He was of the Protestant faith and founding member of River Forest Yacht club, Freeport. Walter graduated in 1947 from Har Brack High School, was an avid boater and loved his dog Dolly. Survivors include his brother Paul D. (Mary Ann) Horne, Natrona Heights; also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Carlton (Chris) Crowe, Carol Crowe Hines, Judy Presley, Laurie Davis, Connie Stephenson, Janet (Barry) Wetzel, Scott (Meg) Horne and Douglas (Ingrid) Horne. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Ruth Crowe and Irma Jean Presley. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be held on Monday at 11am with Rev. Barbara A. Ravenstahl, officiating. Burial in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights with full military honors by Tarentum VFW 5758.
