James L. Stewart, 86, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Jim was born July 20, 1929, in Brackenridge to the late Arthur and Irene (Scholl) Stewart. A Korean War veteran, Jim worked 44 years in the payroll department of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, retiring in 1992. He was an avid golfer and fan of all three Pittsburgh sporting teams. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach. He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 65 years, Charlotte (Purvis) Stewart. Jim and Char were inseparable. He is also survived by his adoring children, Tim (Cheryl) Stewart, Erie, Tom (Patty) Stewart, Lower Burrell and Amy (Stan) Ingram, North Carolina. Additionally, Jim will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Lindie, Jeffrey, Kaitlyn, Matthew and Cole as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents as well as brothers Bloomer, Jack and Don, sisters Eva Atkinson, Hope Murphy and Lucille Samay. Per Jim''s request, services and burial will be private.
