Frederick R. "Whitey" Derringer, 86, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at home. He was born March 19, 1929 in Tarentum, son of the late Godfred R. and Jennie M. (Collins) Derringer. He has lived most of his life in the Tarentum area. Frederick was a Fork Lift Operator for PPG Industries in Creighton for 47 years before retiring in 1991; he also worked for Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights for 24 years. A member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum and former long time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Natrona Heights. He enjoyed gardening, house painting, loved his work and especially loved his family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Adela I. "Della" (Kocon) Derringer: his children, Frederick R. "Fred" (Christine D.) Derringer, Harwick, Dennis (Mary Ellen) Derringer, Butler and Deborah (Eric) Joswig, Humatella, FL; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Gary Derringer in 1963; a brother Richard Derringer and 2 sisters Shirley and Nancy Klabnik. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1525 where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:20 am followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Natrona Heights with Rev.
