William Thomson III, 83, of Fawn Township, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. He was born April 17, 1932, in Tarentum, son of the late William and Sarah (Rogers) Thomson II. William has lived in Fawn the past 59 years. He worked for 40 years as a scheduler in the Bar-Mill for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, Brackenridge, and also was a constable in the Fawn Township area for 18 years. William was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Air Force. He was of the Protestant faith and a member of the Tarentum Eagles and Brackenridge American Legion. A 1951 graduate of Tarentum High School, he enjoyed trucking for Thomson Trucking, which he owned and operated in Fawn Township. William enjoyed spending time in the garage with his sons and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Phyllis E. (Wiskemann) Thomson; his sons, David V. (Tina) Thomson, of Allegheny Township, Charles E. (Bonita) Thomson, of Grant, Fla.; twins, Daniel V. (Gina) Thomson, of Brackenridge, and Dennis R. (Marya) Thomson, of Lawrenceville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William A. Thomson, in 1981; and a sister, Sally Tosatto. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E. Tenth Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
