Shirley E. Thimons, 86, of East Deer Township, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Platinum Ridge Nursing Home, Brackenridge. She was born July 24, 1929, in Kittanning, daughter of the late Walter and Goldie (Toy) Wess. Shirley lived most of her life in Tarentum and East Deer Township where she was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. She was a former member of the Christian Mothers of Holy Martyrs Church and graduated in 1947 from Tarentum High School. Shirley enjoyed watching TV, playing cards and camping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, John J. Thimons; her sons, Robert J. (Karen) Thimons, Plum Borough, James E. (Cheryl) Thimons, Upper Burrell, Michael J. Thimons, East Deer Township, John S. Thimons and companion, Lisa, Brackenridge, and William P. (Bobbie Jo) Thimons, Arnold; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Doris (William) Nanstiel, Enterprize, Fla. Visitation 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Thomas L.
