Glenn Zetter

January 8, 1936 — November 30, 2015

Glenn Zetter, 79, of Natrona Heights, passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at home, surrounded and comforted by his loving family. He was born Jan. 8, 1936, in Jeannette, to the late Dewey and Grace (Senior) Zetter. He was a 1953 graduate of Jeannette High School and was an Army veteran, having served at Fort Knox. Glenn met his wife, Louise (DiCaro), while working as an Arthur Murray dance instructor in downtown Pittsburgh. Louise came in as his student and became his wife of 55 years. They celebrated their wedding anniversary on Nov. 24. His love of people was a natural fit for his eventual career in sales, where he sold everything from insurance to jewelry. Glenn was a sharp-dressed fixture in the Tarentum business community, where he and his wife opened the clothing establishments, Louise's, Louise's Two and then his very own, G. Zetter Clothier. His favorite venture became his last before retirement. Silver Fox Trading was the business that introduced him to the glory of the American Southwest. Glenn loved his travels on the open road and the many diverse people he met along the way. He adored his family, especially his two grandsons. He could be seen cheering in the stands at all of their sporting events over the years. He also loved talking politics and was an avid sports fan who was lucky to be in attendance at Three Rivers Stadium the day that Franco Harris made the Immaculate Reception. Glenn greatly missed work and driving after his health declined. And what he missed the most is the thing we hope he is doing somewhere right now -- dancing. Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Louise A. (DiCaro) Zetter; his loving daughters, Linda (Jeffrey) Stiehler, of Springdale, and Paula (Archie Ehrmentrout) Zetter, of Fawn Township; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Hunter Stiehler. Several nieces and a nephew and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive, as well as his faithful dog and companion, Lando. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jay and Wayne Zetter; and his sisters, Lorraine Peoples and Joan Blair. His family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate angels of Good Samaritan Hospice of Cabot.
