Mary E (DiPadova) Grabigel

July 12, 1930 — November 20, 2015

Mary E. Grabigel, 85, of Brackenridge, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was born July 12, 1930, in Brackenridge, daughter of the late Luca and Theresa (DiPerna) DiPadova. She has lived her entire life in Brackenridge. Mary was a homemaker and also worked for a number of years at Allegheny Valley Hospital in the Insurance Department and the switchboard. She was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights, and a 1949 graduate of Har Brack High School. Mary enjoyed word search puzzles and Hallmark movies. She especially enjoyed her family, children, grand and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Franklin C. (Robin) Grabigel Jr., of South Buffalo Township, Mary Jo (Timothy) Chambon, of Monroe, N.C., and Judith L. Grabigel, of Tarentum; her grandchildren, Ryan Grabigel and companion, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Tami (Shawn) O'Donnell, of Charlotte, N.C., Britney Grabigel, of Oakmont, Kasie Zier, of Tarentum, Chelsey Grabigel, of Orlando, Fla., Kellie Zier, of Tarentum, and Sidney Grabigel and companion, Jeramy Dombroski, of Pittsburgh; great-grandchildren, Shawn Thomas, Lillian and Emma O'Donnell, of Charlotte, N.C., and one expecting great-granddaughter, Skyler Dombroski; also surviving are two sisters, Rose Marie (Tony) Tresco, of Tarentum, and Elizabeth (John) Staley, of Naples, Fla. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin C. Grabigel Sr., in 2010; sisters, Susan Giovannelli and Dorothy DiPerna; and brother, David DiPerna. There will be no public visitation, however relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Everyone please meet at church. Interment will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
