Roy H. Lasher, 90, formerly of Lower Burrell, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Platinum Ridge Nursing Home, Brackenridge, where he was a resident one year. He was born Oct. 13, 1925, in Lower Burrell, a son of the late Bloyd L. Lasher and Bessie (Mann) McDowell. Roy has lived most of his life in Lower Burrell and New Kensington. He worked for Ford Motor Company of New Jersey for 30 years in maintenance. Roy was a veteran of the Korean era, serving in the Army, and a member of Janes United Methodist Church, Creighton. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and watching TV Programs. Survivors include his stepchildren, Susan E. Mason, of Natrona Heights, Timothy (Mary Ann) McConnell, of Danville, Diana McConnell, Rocco, of New Kensington, and David (Toni-Marie) McConnell, of Tarentum. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean McConnell Lasher, in 1976; second wife, Betty Lou McConnell Lasher, in 2008; brother, Carl Lasher; and two sisters, Joy White and Edie Fetterman. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC. 347 E. Tenth Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Megan Y. Berkebile, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
