Helen M. Fieo, 101, formerly of Fawn Township and Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, where she was a resident for 15 years. She was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Tarentum, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Frank) Celko. Prior to living at Concordia, she resided in Fawn Township for 50 years and Natrona Heights for 10 years. She was a homemaker and member of Central Presbyterian Church, Tarentum. Helen was also a member of Senior Women's Club of Tarentum, Eastern Star and the Alle-Kiski Historical Society. She graduated from Tarentum High School in 1932. Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, did volunteer work for local organizations, maintained a pristine garden and loved to feed and watch the birds. She especially enjoyed spending time and taking care of her loving family. Helen's spirit for life was an inspiration to those who knew her. Survivors include her daughters, Melody Fieo, of Salisbury, Md., and Crystal (Scott) Rennie, of New Castle; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Fieo, of Dubois. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joseph M. Fieo Sr., in 2009; a son, Joseph Fieo Jr., in 2014; and several brothers and sisters. At the request of Mrs. Fieo, there will be no public visitation. All services and burial will be private.
