Violet A. Marso, 57, of Tarentum, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 14, 1957, in Harrison Township, daughter of the late Leonard K. and Lois J. (Clough) Mason. Violet has lived most of her life in Tarentum where she was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Natrona Heights, and was a 1977 graduate of Highlands High School. She loved animals, especially her cat, Gremlin, travelling and needlepoint, and she especially loved her family. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Paul F. Marso; siblings, Leonard (Missy) Mason, of Clinton, Md., Lawrence (Debra) Mason, of Arnold, Lucille (George) Hoover, of Tarentum, Jeanne George, of Natrona Heights, and sister and nephew with whom she made her home, Janie Baenig and Bobby Baenig, of Tarentum. Also surviving are nephews, David Mason, of Sumter, S.C., and Derrick Thorne, of Clinton, Md. Several great-nieces and nephews also survive as well as special nephews, Branson and Benny. Chapel services were conducted at noon Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township, with the Rev. Jeffrey A. Vanderhoff, officiating. Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, in Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge. Arrangements are by DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E.
