James A Adams

James A. Adams, 83, of Natrona Heights, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Concordia Assisted Living, Cabot. He was born Nov. 24, 1931, in Latrobe, the son of the late Albert H. and Alice (Plouchard) Adams. He lived most of his life in the Tarentum and Natrona Heights area. He was a graduate of Tarentum High School, where he was on the football team. James served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. After his service, he worked for PPG Glass Company in Creighton for several years before he became employed by U.S. Steel in Saxonburg until he retired in 1980. He was a Webelos instructor for the Boy Scout Troop 517, assistant manager for Natrona Heights Little League, instructor for Junior Achievement while at U.S. Steel, member of U.S. Steel Management Club, life member of the VFW 894, Natrona Heights, and Brackenridge American Legion. He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Adams. Survivors include his sons, Dale J. Adams, of Alexandria, Va., and Douglas (Michelle) Adams, of Fairview Park, Ohio; sister-in-law, Barbara Adams, of Parma, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Interment in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, with military honors by Tarentum VFW Post 5758. Contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice .
