Frank P. Pencheck, Sr., 90, of Fawn Township, passed away at home Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was born July 17, 1926 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, son of the late John and Ludviho "Lucy" (Francov) Pencheck, Makewich. Frank has lived in Fawn Township since 1958. He retired after 30 years as a machinist for the former Westinghouse Electric Corp., Cheswick. He was also employed at Allegheny Steel, Brackenridge, American St. Gobain Window Glass, Arnold and received his machinist apprentice from Hughes Aircraft, California. Frank was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army, inducted in Pittsburgh on November 6, 1944, he received basic training at Camp Blanding, FL, 191st Battalion Company A, 423rd Infantry, Golden Lions Regime, 106th Infantry Division, Company G. He was a light mortar crewman 60mm mortar, He was a Staff Sergeant in the 1938 Labor Supervision Company. He left Fort George G. Meade, MD on the Queen Elizabeth and arrived in Glasgow, Scotland as a replacement unit for the men in the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Good Conduct Medal, European Theater of Operations Campaign Medal, WWII Victory medal. Army of Occupation medal and Northern France (D-Day invasion). Frank was a member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum and attended trade school at Pittsburgh Diesel and Automotive school and Los Angeles Trade Technical School. Member of Local 1914 IBEW retirees club. He enjoyed helping other people, gardening, traveling to the beach and working around the house and yard. Survivors include his children, Irene M. (Robert J.) Kuntz, Jr., Willow Spring, NC and Frank P. (Marjorie) Pencheck, Jr., Natrona Heights. Also surviving is a grandson Frank P. Pencheck, III and fiancé Becki Rio, Brackenridge. Also surviving is a niece and nephew. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Josephine L. "Jody" (Jannello) Pencheck in 2013; 2 brothers Henry Penchick and Steve Pencheck and 2 sisters Mildred Stipa and Mary Fiorina. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 Am in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum with Rev.
