Richard P. "Dick" Michnuk, 85, of Lower Burrell, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at West Haven Manor, Washington Twp. He was born August 29, 1931 in Brackenridge, son of the late Philip and Anna (Homolek) Michnuk. He has lived in Lower Burrell since 1959. Richard worked at ALCOA Technical Center, Merwin for 33 years before retiring in 1993. He served with the US Army during the Korean War and was discharged as a Sgt. Richard was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell, Brackenridge American Legion, River Forest Country Club, ALCOA 25 year club, American Welding Society and former member Pioneer Hose, Brackenridge. A 1950 graduate of Har Brack High School and attended Penn State New Kensington. Richard enjoyed muzzle loading rifle hunting, golf and model trains He traveled extensively for work and pleasure, visiting his son and daughter in Hilton Head and Key Largo. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Loretta S. (Stahl) Michnuk; children Jody (Stephen) Choder, Pittsburgh, Lisa (Michael) Dykes, Key Largo, FL and John R. (Kristine) Michnuk, Hilton Head, SC. Also surviving are two grandsons Alex and Adam Dykes. Memorial visitation will be held June 18 from 1PM until the time of the blessing service at 2:30 PM in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 with Rev. Wesley M.
