James D Pugh

James D. Pugh, 87, of Fawn Twp., passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia, Cabot. He was born March 13, 1930 in East Deer Twp., son of the late Barrett George and Rose B. (Henry) Pugh. James has lived most of his life in Fawn Twp... He was a Crane man for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp, Brackenridge from 1948-1992, retiring as an overhead crane man. Member of Center United Methodist Church, Fawn Twp. James graduate from Tarentum High School in 1948 where he played offensive/defensive tackle on the 1947 unbeaten, untied high school team. He was the youngest charter volunteer fireman of Fawn Twp. Fire Company. Jim was a man who could do any job, a jack of all trades and a hard worker. He had a lifelong love of hunting. Survivors include his children, John T. (Karen) Pugh, Butler, Kathleen (Danny) Bollinger, James H. (Joni) Pugh and Mark B. (Patty) Pugh, all of Fawn Twp., Miriam (Dave) Kengor, Tarentum and Lorene Pugh, Swedesboro, NJ; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sisters, Joanna Meckley, San Diego, CA and Naomi Meckley, Cabot. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his second wife Edna (Harvey) Smolic Pugh, grandson James D. Pugh, great grandson Timothy D. Rutkowski and 2 brothers George and Fred Pugh. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be held on Saturday at 11AM with Rev. Gregory L. Spencer, Pastor Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge officiating. Burial will be private in Pleasant Unity Church, Cemetery. VISIT: dusterfuneralhomeinc.com
