Doris Anne (McAfoose) Collins

Doris Anne (McAfoose) Collins, 72, of Natrona Heights, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017. She was born September 16, 1944 in Harrison Township, daughter of the late E. Louise (Mioduszewski) McAfoose. Doris lived in Bethel Park for 30 years and the past 15 in Natrona Heights. She was an English teacher for Burrell High school for a number of years. A member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. She graduated from Har-Brack High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Doris enjoyed cross stitching, cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed her family, children and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Brian (Holly) Collins, Ross Twp., and Leslie (Ben) Craven, Pine Twp., grandchildren, Tyler & Gracin Collins, Ross Twp. and Ryan and Joshua Craven, Pine Twp. Also surviving are a sister Kathleen (Chester) Jonczak, Buffalo Twp., sister-in-law Barbara J. Emmerling, New Kensington, Elizabeth McAfoose, Fredericksburg, VA., and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her mother she was preceded in death by her husband James J. "Jim" Collins in 2016, son Michael in 1974 and a brother Raymond McAfoose. Visitation 6-8PM Tuesday and Wednesday 11 AM till 1:30 pm in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 2PM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Burial in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp.
