W. James Geahry, 74, of Brackenridge, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Allegheny Valley Hospital. He was born May 25, 1942 in Harrison Township, son of the late Fred E. and Margaret (Goldinger) Geahry, Sr. James lived most of his life in Brackenridge where he was a member of First Church of God. He was a clerk for Penn Central Railroad, Conrail and Norfolk Southern; he was also worked for the former Stockdale Hardware in Tarentum. James was a former member of Highlands Hose Fire Company in Tarentum and a graduate of East Deer High School in 1961 and attended IBM School and PTI Industrial Engineering. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, train collecting and boating. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carol J. (Wolfe) Geahry; sons, James W. (Sandy) Geahry, Moon Twp., John (Cindy) Geahry, Buffalo Twp., Rick (Sarah) Geahry, Tarentum and Michael Geahry, Brackenridge; grandchildren, Darrin, Tanner, Mark and Derek. Also surviving are his sister-in-laws Shirley Henderson, Brackenridge and Eileen Geahry, Tarentum. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Henry L. who passed away Feb. 8, 2017, Fred Jr. and George Geahry and Sisters Ann Critchlow and Peggy Gustafson.
