Joseph G. Durci, Jr., 79, of East Deer Township, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Golden Living Center, Murrysville. He was born May 22, 1937 in Tarentum, son of the late Joseph G. and Christine (Uhric) Durci, Sr. Joseph was a Printer for 37 years at the Valley News Dispatch, before retiring in 2001. He was a veteran of the US Army and a graduate of Tarentum High School. Joseph was a member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum, Tarentum Drum & Bugle Corp, Tarentum VFW, Brackenridge American Legion Post 226, fireman for several years at Summit Hose, Tarentum and Tarentum Auxiliary Police. Joseph was an avid Steeler fan, Civil war historian and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Survivors include his 4 sons, Joseph G. Durci, III, New Kensington, Edward (Beth Krysevig) Durci, North Huntington, James Durci, Arnold and Matthew Durci, Sr., Tarentum; 5 grandchildren, Taylor Lynch (Durci), Boalsburg, Matt Durci, Jr., Tarentum, Ben Durci, North Huntington, Andrew and Ian Durci, Lower Burrell. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Lou (Antonio) Perez, Carrick and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Maura Catherine (Gase) Durci; and two sisters Joann Olich and Sylvia Collins.
