William J. "Bill" Ringler, Sr., 63, of Tarentum, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born May 5, 1953 in Harrison Township, son of the late Robert L. and Anna (Urbanek) Ringler. Bill lived most of his life in Tarentum and was employed in Maintenance at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp, Brackenridge for 32 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was a retired member of the PA National Guard. Bill was of the Catholic faith and a graduate of Highlands High School 1971. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, involved with Toys for Tots, was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 180 and former member of Knights of Columbus. Bill was an avid reader and a teller of tall tales and he especially enjoyed his family, children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Rebecca A. (Stobert) Ringler, children William (Yumi) Ringler, Jr., Japan, Desiree (Anthony) Singleton, MD and Colleen (Craig Boyd) Ringler, Brackenridge; grandchildren Keller, Lillian and Ariadne, and a sister Carol Smith. Besides parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Ringler KIA in Vietnam and mother in law Jane Stobert. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon. Burial will be private.
