Edward A. Kuniak, 71, of Tarentum, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born May 22, 1945 in Harrison Township, son of the late Andrew and Marie (Brezinski) Kuniak. Ed has lived his entire life in Tarentum. He was employed by Tarentum Boro in the Water and Street Departments doing maintenance for many years. A member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum, and Tarentum Eagles where he was very involved, was a Trustee and held many offices. Ed was a former member of the Tarentum Elks and Jednota. He graduated from Tarentum High School and was an avid Steeler fan. Ed also enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, gardening and loved his dogs. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Rose Marie (Chovanes) Kuniak, friend, Donna Hill, Tarentum, and his siblings, Andrew (Marian) Kuniak, Lower Burrell, Frank (Darlene) Kuniak, Natrona Heights and Connie Cornman, Freeport, sister in law Rosemary Kuniak, Brackenridge. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Larry Kuniak and sisters Gabriella and Deborah Kuniak and brother in law Thomas Cornman. Visitation 3-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 am followed by a Christian Funeral Mass 10 AM in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum with Rev. Thomas L. Gillespie, MD, officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp.
