Roger T Olean

Roger T. Olean, 48, formerly of East Deer Township, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. He was born March 22, 1968 in New Kensington, son of Rose M. (Spece) Olean, East Deer Twp. and the late George Olean. Roger was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic church, Tarentum. He was an Athletic Trainer for Bethany College, WV and State University, NY as well as other colleges and three high schools. He was also a member of the National Athletic Trainer''s Association (NATA) and was certified in CPR/AED through the Red Cross. Roger was a 1985 graduate of Deer Lakes High School and earned his bachelor''s degree from Slippery Rock University in 1991 and a Master''s in Physical Education from Springfield College, MA in 1998. Besides his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Joy Powers, East Deer Twp., George Olean, Ellicott City, MD and twin brothers, Dennis (Bernadette) Olean, Ellicott City, MD and David Olean, East Deer Twp. Private family Visitation was held Friday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a blessing service was held on Saturday.
