Dennis J. Derringer, 62, of Butler Township, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. He was born May 26, 1954 in Harrison Township. Son of Adela I. (Kocon) Derringer, East Deer Twp. and the late Frederick R. Derringer. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Derringer, in 1963. Dennis has lived the past 30 years in Butler Twp. where he was employed at Marmon/Keystone Corp., most recently serving as the Vice President of Quality and Operations. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed officiating Soccer, Baseball and Basketball in the local community for 25 years. Dennis graduated in 1972 from Highlands High School and in 1976 from Carnegie Mellon University where he was a member of the basketball team. Dennis'' greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren, Teagan and Daphne. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Ellen (Farina) Derringer; children, Dennis G. Derringer, Allison Park and his fiancé Kaitlin Domanoski, Verona and Danielle E. (Francis A.) Krouse, III, Avon, OH; grandchildren Teagan Derringer and Daphne Krouse. Also surviving are his siblings, Frederick R. "Fred" (Christine D.) Derringer, Harwick and Deborah (Eric) Joswig, Humatella, FL. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, November 13th in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, November 14th at 10AM in St. Paul R.C. Church, Butler. Everyone please meet at church. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
