Donald P. Torgent, Sr., 77, of Brackenridge, passed away Saturday, November 05, 2016 at Fair Winds Manor, Nursing, Home, Winfield Twp., following a brief illness. He was born February 7, 1939 in Pittsburgh, son of the late John and Henrietta Torgent. Donald lived most of his life in Brackenridge where he was a Lithographer for the Valley News Dispatch in Tarentum for 35 years. A veteran of the US Air Force and member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Lower Burrell. Donald was also a life member of Eureka Hose Fire Co and the Oregon Club. A 1957 graduate of Tarentum High School, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and most recently going to his grandchildren''s sporting events. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Georgianna (Schaeffer) Torgent; his children, Paula S. (Michael) Richards, Tarentum and Donald P. "JR" Torgent, Jr., Natrona Heights; grandchildren, Nathan and Lauren Torgent, Brackenridge and Larkin and Mikey Jo Richards, Tarentum; brother Jack Torgent, Fredericksburg, VA; also survived by a foster sister in law, Marti Larkin, Natrona Heights and a former daughter in law Heidi (Bordonaro) Torgent, Brackenridge. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Kenneth and Maudelle (Mitchell) Larkin and foster brothers, Jim and William "Bill" Larkin.
