Laverne M Thomm

Laverne M. (Nelson) Sill- Thomm, 89 formerly of Fawn Twp., passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 on her birthday at Belair Health and Rehab Center, Lower Burrell. She was born October 14, 1927 in Pittsburgh; daughter of the late Theodore and Marie (Dowd) Nelson. Laverne was a resident the past year in Belair and prior to that she had lives in Fawn Township and the North Hills. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church, Fawn Township. Laverne was also a member of Outdoor Life Lodge and Owls Club in Russellton. She was very active in her church and enjoyed bowling, country music and cooking and enjoyed watching TV. Survivors include her children, David (Deborah) Sill, Gibsonia, Herbert "Herb" (Carla) Sill, North Richville, OH, Debbie (Edward) Sipe, Butler, Diane Ives, Brackenridge and Robert (Jackie) Sill, Culpepper, VA; 5 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters, 3 stepchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Bernadine Hoffman of Shaler Twp. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Sill and her second husband William Thomm 2 grandchildren,Amanda and Warren Sill, and her siblings, Roger Nelson, Dee Sharkins and Mary Fallon. Visitation will be Monday,Oct 17 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Duster Funeral Home,Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 AM in Pleasant Unity U.P.
