Marie E Planavsky

Marie E. (Ross) Planavsky, 85, formerly of West Tarentum, passed away Monday, October 03, 2016 at Bel Air Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lower Burrell where she was a resident past 8 months. She was born August 19, 1931 in Harrison Township; daughter of the late Andrew F. and Victoria E. (Kotecki) Ross. Marie has lived in Lower Burrell since 1998 and prior to that West Tarentum. She was a homemaker and also in her early years she worked in the nursery of Allegheny Valley hospital, taking care of the babies which she enjoyed. A member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum and a 1949 graduate from Har Brack High School; she enjoyed reading and later taking care of her grandchildren who are all grown up now. Survivors include her children, Anthony S. (Rebecca "Becky") Planavsky, Jr., New Kensington and Cynthia M. "Cindy" (David) Simonetti, Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Anthony "TJ" (Erika) Planavsky, Eric Planavsky and Kristi McKenna, Mandy (Rick) Libengood and Ashlee (Rick) Artuso; great granddaughters Ava Marie Planavsky and Myah Artuso; great grandson Liam Libengood and a brother Andrew Robert (Theresa) Ross, Melbourne, FL. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Anthony S. Planavsky, Sr. A private family viewing was held in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington with Rev.
