Andrew S. Slusar

Andrew S. Slusar, 67, formerly of New Kensington, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Aspinwall, VA, following a lengthy illness. He was born January 15, 1950 in New Kensington to the late Peter and Myrtle (Knox) Slusar. Andrew lived most of his life in New Kensington. A veteran of Vietnam War serving in the US Navy. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a 1968 graduate of Valley High School. Andrew was an avid Steeler fan, loved animals, nature and the outdoors. He was also a fan of Rick Astley.

            Survivors include his daughters Heather M. (Michael) DeSanto, Allegheny Twp., Andrea M. Young (Marc Raeckelboom), Charleston, SC and Rene J. (Gary) Schrag, Brackenridge; loving grandfather of Victoria Raeckelboom, Samuel DeSanto, Joslyn Schrag, Alexa Schrag, Cadence Schrag and Emma DeSanto. Also surviving are 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah J. Slusar and a brother.
