Anna T. (Kapusnik) Bazik, 95, formerly of Brackenridge, passed away peacefully December 13, 2023 at Wellmore of Tega Cay, in South Carolina. She was born December 1, 1928 in Velka Bytca, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late John and Mary (Frolo) Kapusnik. Ann immigrated to the U.S. in 1935 and was a 1948 graduate from St. Joseph High School. She married Joseph Stanley Bazik, Jr. in 1949 and the couple built their home in Brackenridge. Ann was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights and a member of the Ladies Guild of her church. She was a long-time member of the Friends of the Community Library of Allegheny Valley and the library was one of her favorite places. As a child she learned to speak and read English by visiting the library. As a widow, she found comfort in volunteering her time preparing new books for integration into the library’s collection. Ann devoted many years volunteering with Highlands Area Meals on Wheels and was very fond of her fellow volunteers. She enjoyed walking, crocheting, and card club. Ann’s greatest joy was her family and she was happiest in her kitchen with a crowded table to feed.
Survivors include a son, Richard J. (Marlene) Bazik of Goldsboro, N.C.; two daughters, Deborah Larkin of Huntersville, N.C. and Mrs. Fred (Amy) Hines of Charlotte, N.C; brother, John Kapusnik, of Lower Burrell; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
