Anthony C. “Cooney” Kuniak, 86, formerly of Tarentum, and a resident of Rosebrook Assisted Living, Buffalo Twp. the past 6 ½ years, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017. He was born September 30, 1931 in Tarentum to the late Joseph and Eva (Halvonik) Kuniak. Anthony lived his entire life in Tarentum and was a Plant Manager for AP Green/ Wulfrath, Tarentum for 30 years. Anthony was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Era in Europe. He was a member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum and life member of the Jednota club, Tarentum. A 1951 graduate of Tarentum High School where he was a 4 year letterman in basketball, football and baseball and received the Dresher Award for outstanding athlete. Anthony attended Mt Union College and enjoyed softball, golf and hunting. Survivors include his children Kim (Jeff) Oltman, Fredericksburg, VA, Anthony “Tony” (Patricia) Kuniak, Mars, Tammy S. (Mark) Sarver, Buffalo Twp. and Joseph L. (Mary) Kuniak, Natrona Heights; grandchildren Josh, Ryan (Megan) and Nick Oltman, Kristen and Matthew Kuniak, Jacob Sarver and Katelyn and Zac Kuniak and great grandson Paxton James Oltman. Also surviving is a sister Catherine Turley, Warrensburg, MO. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Andrea (Signorella) Kuniak; siblings Andrew, John G., Joseph G., Stephen J. Kuniak and Mary Teklinski. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 am followed by a Christian Funeral Mass in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum at 10 AM with Rev.
