Arthur R. “Art” Kuchta, 87, of Lower Burrell, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Concordia Hospice of Monroeville. He was born April 15, 1931 in East Deer Twp. to the late Michael P. and Rose A. (Raymond) Kuchta. Art lived most of his life in Lower Burrell but was born and raised in East Deer Twp. Art was a Printer who owned and operated Creighton Print Shop with his sons for over 60 years. He was a Sergeant in the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. A member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, life member Lower Burrell VFW, Tarentum Jednota, East Deer Fire Dept., was a former scout master of troop 637 in Lower Burrell and President of Typographical Union 454.
Art graduated in 1949 from East Deer Frazer High School and the Rochester Institute of Technology for printing. He enjoyed his work and loved his camp in Crooked Creek; Bethel Twp. Art especially enjoyed his family, children and grandchildren and had a strong Catholic faith.
Survivors include his children, David R. (Pamala) Kuchta, Natrona Heights, Mark R. (Robin) Kuchta, Brackenridge, Michael J. (Beth) Kuchta, Lower Burrell, Paul J. Kuchta and Pam Smith, Lower Burrell, Lisa A. (David) Speer, Creighton and Mary Beth (Christopher) Rupert, Lower Burrell. Also surviving are his grandchildren Jason (Nicole) Kuchta, Wesley (Maria) Kuchta, Caitlin (Shawn) Willard, Alex, Samantha and Mick Kuchta and Casey Rupert; great grandchildren Brynn, Jaxson and Sophia Kuchta and Dominic, Parker and Grant Willard. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Edna Mae (Brewer) Kuchta in 2005 and a brother Bernard Kuchta.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 am in St. Mary Church, New Kensington with his pastor Rev. John S. Szczesny, officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery Lower Burrell.
