Bernard D. Gaston, 87, of Frazer Township, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, January 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born August 29, 1935 in Frazer Twp. to the late Frank L. and Mary L. (Putirka) Gaston. Bernard lived most of his life in Frazer Township and was a Union Carpenter for Heavy Construction Local 2274 in Pittsburgh and also Carnegie Gas, Creighton for 18 years. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Tarentum VFW. Bernard enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, playing cards, euchre, crafts and carpentry. He especially enjoyed his family, children and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Edith M. (Smith) Gaston; his children Sheree L. (Tim) Dorsch, of Red House, WV, Ernest D. Gaston, of Frazer Twp., Thomas G. (Sherry) Gaston, of Murrysville and Glenn J. (Tamara) Gaston, of Las Vegas, NV. Grandchildren Desiree Downs, Melissa (Richard) Eurillo; great grandchildren Kenadee and Olivia Downs. Also surviving are his sisters, Elizabeth Cheran and Nancy (Alan) Kralik, both of West Deer and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brothers Ernest and Bernard, Alois, Frank and Leonard, Gaston and sisters Frances Veltri, Eleanor Borish and Mary Gaston.
