Betty A. Bricker

November 6, 1924 — January 20, 2021

Our precious mother, Betty A. Bricker, passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 96 in the care of the Arbors III at St. Barnabas, Gibsonia, PA, where she has lived for the past year. Prior to her care there, Betty resided at her home in Sarver, PA.

          Betty is survived by her children, William P. Bricker (Darlene) of Buffalo Twp., Robert A. Bricker of McCandless Twp., Bonnie J. Almquist (John) of Adams Twp. and Barry J. Bricker of Buffalo Twp.; six grandchildren: Bethany, Kirsten, Jennifer, Bill, Jonathan and Rachel and great grandchildren: Lila, Iris, Palmer, Bradyn, Jackson, Zachary, Kealey, Sydney and Ashton, all who loved their “Gigi”.

          Betty was born in Brackenridge, PA to Mark N. and Anna L. (Keppler) Robb. She graduated from Har Brack High School in 1942 and worked on the class reunion committee for many years. She attended Carnegie Tech which is now known as Carnegie-Mellon University where she was a proud member of the Tri Delta sorority. Betty left college to travel to California to marry her sweetheart, Paul Bricker, on November 1, 1945, after Paul’s end of service for the Navy in WWII. Betty and Paul settled in Hayward, CA where she worked as a secretary for Peterson Tractor Company until returning to Brackenridge, PA, before her first child was born. Upon Paul’s retirement, Betty and Paul moved to their Sarver residence.

          Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed reading and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan listening to games on the radio and TV and declaring Roberto Clemente as her favorite player. She loved her Bucs through thick and thin! She also enjoyed watching Penn State football and the Steelers. She and her husband enjoyed card club and spending time at their summer camp, Tree Tops. Betty hosted numerous family gatherings at her summer cottage including evening campfires with the Gibsons at Canadohta Lake. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Brackenridge, PA.

          Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Paul U. Bricker, her parents Mark N. and Anna L. Robb, and her two brothers, John A and William G. Robb.

          Services were private for immediate family members only, with Rev. Gregory L. Spencer, officiating. Burial was in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
