Carl M. Chernan, 91, of Tarentum, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Platinum Ridge Center, Brackenridge. He was born August 22, 1931 in Fawn Township to the late Carl A. and Agatha (Kovatch) Chernan. Carl lived most of his life in Tarentum and was a Engineer at PPG Industries, Allison Park. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Air Force, Helicopter Rescue. Carl was a former member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum and a 1949 graduate of Tarentum High School. Carl was happy to work on many different things in his large workshop; building antennas, Ham Radio, weather stations, computers and drones. He could fix many things. He also enjoyed reading and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Patricia (Murray) Chernan. Also surviving are his sisters Agatha (Robert) Such, of Lower Burrell, Camille (Robert) Pollack, of West Deer Twp. and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Jean.
