Carl P. Selmek, Jr., 69, of Buffalo Township, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh after a long battle with a chronic illness. He was born November 15, 1952 in New Kensington to the late Carl P. and Jennie (Lazzara) Selmek. Carl lived most of his life in Fawn Township and the past 34 years in Buffalo Twp. He was owner/operator of Selmek Trucking in Buffalo Twp. and also worked at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge. Carl was a member of St. Barnabas Church, Brackenridge. He enjoyed remodeling homes, boating, hunting, fishing, amusement parks and his beloved dog Rambo.
Survivors include his daughters Jennifer L. (Jeffrey) Frantz, of Natrona Heights, Rachel M. Selmek and fiancé Jess Kaufman, of Cowansville and Kaitlyn N. Selmek and fiancé John Naviglia, of Leechburg; grandchildren Jeffrey M., Jett J., Tyler P., Giovanni M., Luca A. and a grandson due in February. Also surviving is his sister Charlene (Bill) Malecki, of Lower Burrell, nephew and godchild Jared and niece Jenna. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Larry Selmek.
Visitation 6-8 PM Wednesday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial will be private in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Spinal Cord Injury or Cancer research. VISIT: dusterfh.com
