Carol A Sopko

Carol Anne Sopko, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the age of 74. Carol was born May 16, 1949 in New Kensington. She was the loving daughter of the late John J. and Mary Ellen (Libengood) Sopko.

Carol worked at the NorthCo training facility in New Kensington and later attended their Senior Program at RIDC Park. Carol was a kind and loving person, and it was easy to see how everyone who met Carol fell in love with her. Carol enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with family and friends and sharing memories from her childhood along with trips and adventures. Carol enjoyed reading magazines, crafts and puzzles.

Carol is survived by her roommates Jeannie, David, and her many friends at Wesley Family Services. Also surviving are her siblings, John T. Sopko, of Manheim, PA and Sally A. (Gary) Choltco, of Gilpin Twp and 3 nephews and 3 nieces. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother James Sopko.

The family wishes to thank her many caregivers during her 30 years at Wesley Family Services (previously Family Services of Western PA) and NorthCo. Carol’s family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Monarch Hospice.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6 from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526.
