Carole A. Greiner

Carole A. Greiner, 89, of Fawn Twp., passed away at home, Friday, February 3, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson’s and dementia. She was born May 31, 1933 in Tarentum to the late Frank J. Klems and Frances (Hue) Klems and step father Charles Burns. Carole lived most of her life in Fawn Twp. where she was a homemaker. Carole graduated from Tarentum High School in 1952 where she was a majorette. She loved basketball and had a great girls team known as the “Slick Chicks.”

She was a past State President Eagles Auxiliary from 1988-99-Past State President Tarentum Eagles Auxiliary, Ladies Majors Bowling League for 44 years and Outdoor Life Lodge and was a girl scout leader. Carole sold Dutchmaid clothing for 23 years, also worked at Easley Florist, and retired from Circulation Dept. from Valley News Dispatch. She enjoyed garage sales, camping, traveling, shooting trap at Frazer Sportsman’s Club, playing cards at Senior Center and doing crafts. She especially enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Transitions Hospice and family friend Stacy for their support.

            Survivors include her daughter Cindy (Randy M. “Rink) Ehrmentrout,  and son Chuck (Alice) Greiner, both of Fawn Twp. Grandchildren Randy (Jen) Ehrmentrout, Ruth Ann (Donnie) Haney and Julee Ann Greiner and great grandchildren Abbie Lynn Ehrmentrout, Paige E., Madison E.  and Harlee M. Corrado and Jane Haney. Besides her parents and step father she was preceded in death by her husband George C. “Tip” Greiner and a granddaughter Sarah M. Ehrmentrout in 2021. Her siblings, Frank “Hank” Klems, Geraldine “Jerry” Matthews and  Wayne Klems.

            Visitation 5-7 PM Sunday at Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be on Monday at 11 AM. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp. Tarentum Eagles Auxiliary will hold services Sunday at 6PM in the funeral home. VISIT: dusterfh.com
