He was born January 20, 1927 to the late Frank and Cecelia Hornick. Chuck lived his entire life in Harmar Township. He was a co-owner of the former Hornick Block in Acmetonia and retired as a shipper for Contravis in RIDC Park. He was a veteran of the US Navy and graduate of Springdale High School. Chuck was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Springdale, River Forest Country Club in Freeport, and the Krivan Club, Springdale. His love for golf made him a challenge on the course. He competed in many tournaments and won a few. His golf trips with his son in law; Frank was something he looked forward to each year. He made 2 holes in ones in one year and was in the paper for this accomplishment at 83 years of age. The grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Everything they did brought him the most joy in his life. Between swimming, baseball, basketball, gymnast, and a golfer, that took after him hitting the ball right down the middle, he never stopped talking about all 4 of them. He loved people and loved to make them laugh with a joke or two. The very most pleasant man to be with and very easy to please. We thank the Lord for the father, grandfather and great grandfather He gave us. Your memory is a way of holding unto the things we love, the things that make us who we are and the things we never want to lose. We will cherish your memory forever. He is not going home he is HOME with the love of his life, Dorothy. I love you Daddy forever thankful for you the first man that loved me and very best father a girl could have.
